I am very happy to announce that I edited and designed the first publication of Rodolphe Töpffers comics in germany in the last 50 years named "Rodolphe Töpffer: Die Liebesabenteuer des Monsieur Vieux Bois". The swiss artist Rodolphe Töpffers is considered by many to be the first mordern comic artist with his first comic drawn in 1827.

The new book includes a comprehensive foreword by myself and three of my favorit stories of his: "Les Amours de monsieur Vieux Bois", "Monsieur Pencil" and "Histoire de monsieur Cryptogame".

A nice trip down memory lane:

14 years ago I worked for the tradition-steeped monthly german comic book magazine Mosaik. Now the old issues of that period got reprinted in a collectors edition. There you can find some of my early works and some never before printed sketches of mine.

In 2012 I created a 7 by 40 meter long picture with scenes from the peaceful revolution in former East-Germany for the memorial place Gedenk- und Bildungsstätte Andreasstraße which is located in a former Stasi prison in Erfurt. The Panorama was printed on huge glass plates which were installed on a big cube.

 

Now I handed over all my original drawings for the cube to the collection of the renowned Angermuseum in Erfurt. In the future the museum plans to exhibit all 45 single drawings.

 

On february 23, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. I will read from my graphic-novels Packeis at the club Feinkost Lampe in Hannover.
