Besides artwork from my graphic novel drüben! and my drawings for the Kubus der friedlichen Revolution in Erfurt it will show original artwork of many other german comic artists dealing with the GDR, including Mawil, Nadia Budde, Sascha Wüstefeld, Ulf S. Graupner, Flix, Ulrich Scheel, Ulla Loge and Peter Auge Lorenz.

For the new issue of the comic-magazine "Alfonz" I made an exclusiv cover illustration for an articel about the soon to be opened "Erika-Fuchs-Haus" in Schwarzenbach an der Saale.

The "Erika-Fuchs-Haus" will be the first german comic-museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of Erika Fuchs.

For the permanent exhibition I wrote and drew a biografie of Erika Fuchs's life. "Alfonz" will print an exclusiv preview of that comic.

On july 11, 2014 starts a brand new comicstrip of my named "Blutige Kohle" ("Bloody Coal") in the weekly newspaper Der Freitag. 

It will tell you about the events that led to the horrible West Virginia Coal Wars that ended with the Battle of Blair Mountain and the first military intervention of the United States Air Force.

The comicstrip will tell the events in 12 monthly episodes from which all episodes except for the first one are told from the point of view of one of the historic participants – from union man Louis Tikas to John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

From june 20 to june 22 I will be at the "Internationaler Comic-Salon Erlangen 2014" and sign my graphic-novels at the booth of the avant-verlag (booth 55; hall B). 

On june 21 at 4:30 p.m. I will take part in a panel discussion about the newly founded Erika-Fuchs-Museum for which I made a very complex comic about Erika Fuch's life. More information right here.

I'm happy to announce that my new book Vita Obscura got nominated for the Goldenen Comicgartenzwerg 2014. The award-ceremony will  take place on september 6 as part of the Comicgarten Leipzig. More informations can be found right here.

On may 30, 2014 will show some of the artwork from my new book Vita Obscura together with my father Gert Schwartz who will show some of his abstract drawings at the Galerie ICON Berlin. The exhibition is named "Vater & Sohn" and will not only show the artistic dialogue in our family but also explore the spectrum between graphic novels and informalism. The exhibition starts at 7 p.m. with a panel discussion moderated by curator Petra Lutz and a lecture from Vita Obscura.

In 2013 the german edition of Le Monde diplomatique which is accompanying the Tageszeitung that day included a fullpage comic of mine. that told a very personal story about the sketchbook my great-grandfather had during the second world war.

On february 27, 2014 you will find several new illustrations of mine about the bilateral investment treaty in the weekly newspaper Die Zeit.

From feburary 16, 2014 till april 27, 2014 the Wilhelm Busch Museum in Hannover will show an exhibition named "Streich auf Streich – 150 Jahre Max und Moritz. Deutschsprachige Comics von Wilhelm Busch bis heute"  that will show almost 100 german comic artitist from 1864 till today. I am very honored that original artwork from my graphic novel Packeis will be  part of the exhibition.

The exhibition will later travel to the Stadtmuseum Erlangen (june 1, 2014 - august 17, 2015) and the Ludwig Galerie Schloss Oberhausen (september 14, 2014 - january 11, 2015).
